They have microfilms for Conn. vital records to 1850, cemetery collection, Corbin Collection, and many others. They subscribe to several genealogical unnamed databases online.

Largest history and genealogy collection in the state in an open-stack collection. Their online catalog can also access other libraries in the state. Most pre-1850 records for town, church, probate, and cemetery records for the state are available on microfilm. Many originals of these same materials are here. The unit is the access point for the State Archives, too. The historical records from all three branches of government are here. Of most interest here are the county court records. There is a general guide to the archive holdings online. Some collections have details holdings online, too.

The library is known for creating and maintain the American Genealogical & Biographical Index (AGBI). The library provides many online services for its non-local users for an annual fee. You can request FHL films to be used in this library.
