History in Hand: The Karen Rinaldo Gallery

Nationally known as the historian who painted “The First Thanksgiving”

As a visual historian  my images tell a story that celebrates commemorative years and significant  events.  The montage style of  designing and depicting multiple images has been a style I have employed since the series of Massachusetts towns I created for the Nation’s Bicentennial in 1976. It has proven to be a successful way of  conveying important people, places, and events, while engaging the viewer and putting history in their hands for a visual educational experience.

“Lexington 250 Concord – April 19, 1775”  tells the history of the first armed confrontation that marks the start of the American Revolution.  It highlights the memorable people, locations, and moments that became landmarks on our country’s history.

This painting inspired the book, “Battle Road Companion.” The book is written in our familiar vignette style by Kevin M. Doyle, as a valuable teaching aid and an enjoyable easy read with brief, informative narratives, complementing the art in a successful collaboration of “One if by Word – Two if by Scene.”
